Thank you for another incredible UMB Big Bash®

UMB Big Bash® is not your typical charity event. It’s a concert fundraiser that is more about having a great time for a great cause than about hob-knobbing. It’s more jeans than suits. The goal is to have BIG fun raising BIG money for important causes impacting our community.

The UMB Big Bash® Foundation would like to give a BIG thank you to everyone who made this year’s event an incredible evening. We hope everyone who came had as much fun as we did! For our 5th year, UMB Big Bash donated $50,000 each, to Literacy Kansas City and reStart Inc., two incredible organizations that do a tremendous amount of good for our community. Thanks also to our entertainment, Rob Thomas and Plain White T’s. Both artists kept the crowd cheering, dancing and singing all night. Finally, thank you to our beneficiaries, attendees and Kansas City for making UMB Big Bash such an impactful and amazing event year after year.

UMB Big Bash proceeds support the efforts of local, mid-sized not-for-profits with the goal to improve the community in a positive way, with special emphasis on honoring veterans, strengthening families, restoring neighborhoods, developing future leaders and improving health and wellness. After the 2015 event, UMB Big Bash has donated $475,000 dollars to local non-profit organizations since the inaugural UMB Big Bash concert in 2011

Big Causes

reStart provides housing and supportive services to help homeless men, women, youth and families move toward independence and self-sufficiency with the goal of ending homelessness in our community.

The UMB Big Bash funds are designed for Support Services for Veteran Families--a new program to reach the underserved population of homeless and near-homeless veterans. Developed in part with Veterans Affairs, the program addresses Kansas City’s community-wide goal of ending homelessness of veterans by 2016. This program fills in the gaps for immediate needs of these individuals.
